Our Story

Sportsmind Junior was created after we realised that a significant number of youth athletes in Australia didn't have access to, or were unaware of mental and emotional skills training and the benefits that this could have on both their sport and their lives.

From our generative research we have already been told first hand that junior athletes know how to train their bodies physically, but are not given any specific training at junior level on how to cope with mental and emotional issues such as high pressure situations, or how to deal with a poor performance.

In a world plagued by uncertainty, exacerbated by the disruptive impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was evident that something had to be done to equip the next generation of young athletes with the necessary tools to thrive in the demanding world of elite sports.

The Sportsmind program has a proven record of supporting athletes, including Olympic Champions and elite athletes at State, National and International levels.

We are excited to expand this offering to youth athletes (13 years +) via Sportsmind Junior.

With dreams of standing proudly on the podium at the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games, the pressure is on to empower them with the positive motivation, self belief, positive mental attitude, pin-point focus, confidence and resilience required to navigate the challenging pathways of elite sports.

Here at Sportsmind Junior, the team is motivated by wanting to teach as many youth athletes as possible how to be mentally and emotionally competent and resilient in their sport and in their lives.
